Interior painting
Walls, ceilings and woodwork, prepared properly and finished in two coats. Furniture moved and covered, floors sheeted end to end, and a schedule based on repairs, drying time and the number of rooms.
- Two coats as standard
- Low-odour water-based paint
- Schedule agreed before work

The paint is the last hour. The rest is the job.
Anyone can roll a wall. What decides whether it still looks right in three years is everything that happens before the first coat: filler sanded flush instead of left proud, dust wiped off so the paint bonds to plaster rather than to powder, and edges cut in by hand where a roller physically cannot reach. In an ordinary flat that preparation is roughly two-thirds of the time we spend on site, and it is the part a cheap quote removes.
The second thing that decides it is the number of coats. One coat over a similar existing colour is a refresh, and we sell it as exactly that — honestly, with the limits stated. Two coats is what covers a colour change, a patched repair or a wall that has never been painted, and it is what we quote as standard. One coat stretched thin over a repair shows itself every afternoon when the sun crosses the wall.
What an interior job covers
Ceilings down to skirtings, in the order that keeps the finish clean.
Walls and ceilings
The bulk of it. Ceilings first so nothing drips onto finished walls, then walls, cutting in by hand at every junction rather than masking a line and hoping it holds.
Woodwork and doors
Frames, doors, skirting and built-in wardrobes. Water-based enamel rather than solvent — it keeps its white in a closed bedroom instead of yellowing within a year or two.
Repairs before paint
Nail holes, cracked internal corners, the patch where a shelf came off, water stains from an old leak. Filled, sanded and spot-primed, because a stain not sealed will read through two coats.
What it is like having us in the house
You are living here. That shapes how we work, not just what we charge.
- Furniture to the middle, then covered
- Everything that moves goes to the centre of the room and is sheeted; what cannot move is wrapped. Floors are covered end to end, not just a square under the ladder — most of the damage in a painted room happens to the floor.
- Low odour, same-night use
- Modern water-based paints let you sleep in the room the night we finish. We use solvent-based products only where nothing else performs — metal railings, some enamels — and we tell you before, not after.
- Handed back, not just finished
- Sockets and switch plates back on, floors vacuumed, rubbish taken with us. Then we walk the walls with you in daylight, because a mark found on the day gets fixed on the day.

What interior painting costs
A one-coat, walls-only refresh of a small flat starts at €381 with paint included. A full two-coat interior repaint is priced separately. Beyond that the figure follows the painted surface area, the number of coats and how much repair the walls need. The calculator asks those three questions and gives you a real number rather than a bracket.
Every price includes VAT and the paint, and there is no call-out fee. The final figure is agreed before we start.
Interior painting questions
- How long does a flat take?
- Timing depends on the painted area, surface repairs, ceilings, woodwork and the drying time required between coats. A one-day refresh is a separate, one-coat service for suitable walls. We confirm the schedule for a full two-coat repaint before you book.
- Do I have to move out?
- No. Water-based paint is low odour and dry to the touch within an hour or two, so the room is usable the same evening. Most people carry on living in the rest of the house while we work room by room.
- Can you paint over a dark colour with white?
- Yes, but be realistic about coats. A strong red or navy under white usually needs a blocking primer plus two coats — three thin layers rather than two, and we quote it that way instead of promising it in one.
- Do you supply the paint or should I buy it?
- We supply it, and it is in the price. If you want a specific brand or a colour matched to something you already have, tell us at the quote and we will price that instead.
- What about a water stain on the ceiling?
- It gets sealed with a stain-blocking primer before painting. Emulsion alone will not hold it back — the stain bleeds through within weeks. If the leak that caused it is still live, we will say so rather than paint over the evidence.
